SERVICES AND SUNDAY SCHOOL
SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sundays 9:45 am – 10:45 am
Sunday mornings begin with all youth (grades 6 to 12) gathered together for a brief time of fellowship, sharing, and reflection. Youth then break into grade specific groups for a time of in-depth Bible study. These studies are Bible based and engaging. Our teachers are devoted and experienced in making the Bible come alive as they strive to show scripture to be exciting and relevant for today’s youth, their culture, and today’s life encounters.
YOUTH WORSHIP AND ACTIVITIES – Wednesday 6:45 pm – 7:25 pm
Worship is a central focus of our faith journey as Christians. Our Wednesday night service is designed as an entry point for our youth to invite their friends. It is an exciting time of youth led worship geared for youth in grade 6 to 12. Our Youth Praise team provides leadership in our contemporary music followed by a clear message from God’s word that allows youth to celebrate God in their lives.
Sunday School Bible Study
Upcoming Bible Studies:
The Youth Ministry is currently using KNOWN for our Sunday Morning Bible Study. This is a comprehensive strategy for spiritual development. There are three components to this study:
Know - Upward Development in our relationship to God.
Own - Inward Development of ourself.
Known - Outward Development in our relationship to others.
DOES THIS LOOK FAMILIAR? It should. This study emphasizes the three parts of our Youth Ministry Mission Statement: UP, OUT, WITHIN.
*NOVEMBER 27-DECEMBER 18 is our Advent series. What will you bring to the manger? What can you do this season for others? Join us for our four-week Advent series!
2012 Schedule:
January 8-A KIND GOD: God's kindness moves us to a relationship with Him, for it leads us to repentance. You might ask, "What does it mean for God to be kind?" Or "What are the attributes of God's kindness?" We will be exploring these questions in this week's lesson, so join us for week one of our series.
January 15- A GOOD GOD: We throw around the word "good" a lot, but do we really know what it means to be good? God loves us, forgives us, and guides us closer to him. Let's explore together what it means to follow a good God in this lesson.
January 22- A GENTLE GOD: If you were asked to describe God in ten words, what would they be? Would "gentle" be on your list? Why or why not? Come to Sunday School and discuss with us the importance of being gentle in week three of our Advent series.
January 29- A REFLECTION OF GOD: What good does being kind, good, and gentle do? As humans, we are battling sin and turning to God, but sometimes we wonder what reward we will get for doing this. In week four of our Advent series, we will focus on what it means to reflect God and his Son.
February 5- SOCIAL ILLS: We are in the world to make a difference, but we often wonder why we should care about social issues. Well, what are some of the greatest needs you see in the world today? In your community? In your school? We will be focusing on how to meet these needs for Christ.
February 12- HELPING OTHERS: God wants to use us to meet people's needs, for it brings joy, honors God, and it is rewarding. Join us as we learn to help others for God's kingdom.
February 19- MARRIAGE BY DESIGN: We will be discussing the differences between what society considers is right for marriage and what God says is right. Join us for an exciting lesson!
* There will not be a regular Sunday School on Sunday, Feb 26 due to DiscipleNOW.
MARCH 4- RACIAL LINES: All people are created in the image of God. Tall short, blonde, brunette, boy, girl---God loves them all. Let's discuss the importance of loving all people.
