FBCNN Youth Alive

On fire for Jesus

Welcome to the website of the Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church Newport News. Our logo expresses our desire that through our relationships and activities we challenge our youth: SERVICES AND SUNDAY SCHOOL

SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sundays 9:45 am – 10:45 am

Sunday mornings begin with all youth (grades 6 to 12) gathered together for a brief time of fellowship, sharing, and reflection. Youth then break into grade specific groups for a time of in-depth Bible study. These studies are Bible based and engaging. Our teachers are devoted and experienced in making the Bible come alive as they strive to show scripture to be exciting and relevant for today’s youth, their culture, and today’s life encounters.

YOUTH WORSHIP AND ACTIVITIES – Wednesday 6:45 pm – 7:25 pm

Worship is a central focus of our faith journey as Christians. Our Wednesday night service is designed as an entry point for our youth to invite their friends. It is an exciting time of youth led worship geared for youth in grade 6 to 12. Our Youth Praise team provides leadership in our contemporary music followed by a clear message from God’s word that allows youth to celebrate God in their lives.

Sunday School Bible Study

Upcoming Bible Studies:

The Youth Ministry is currently using KNOWN for our Sunday Morning Bible Study. This is a comprehensive strategy for spiritual development. There are three components to this study:

Know - Upward Development in our relationship to God.

Own - Inward Development of ourself.

Known - Outward Development in our relationship to others.

DOES THIS LOOK FAMILIAR? It should. This study emphasizes the three parts of our Youth Ministry Mission Statement: UP, OUT, WITHIN.

February 28-March 21 - Peace and Quiet - Jesus said that he came to bring peace to the world. If this is true, then why is the world still a mess. What is peace really about? Together we will explore this and more. We have a responsibility to OWN the process of peace in our lives.

March 28 - April 18 - Can I get a witness? Who has the greatest influence in your culture? YOU DO! In this study, you will learn how to be a witness and how to be an influence to the people you come in contact with. We need to make God KNOWN in the world around us.
